Processing with DroneDeploy
Note: DroneDeploy has created an extensive repository of user guides and documentation as well as detailed how-to guides and webinars for all aspects of the software. Altavian strongly recommends utilizing the information provided on their support website to keep abrest of software updates and feature requirements: http://support.dronedeploy.com
Importing Flight Data
DroneDeploy will automatically read GPS information from the image EXIF tags and can seamlessly process data without any manual configuration. For large datasets (over 600 images), Altavian recommends using Firefox web browser to upload data as other browsers do not perform as well with DroneDeploy. To get started, follow DroneDeploy’s step-by-step guide to upload your first dataset.
Currently, orientation values are not supported with DroneDeploy. GPS data should be sufficient for normal projects.
Color-Infrared (CIR) Data
Data can be uploaded with or without flipping color bands in Flight Visualizer. However, DroneDeploy indices expect images with NIR as the first band (which is correct with flipped datasets). For datasets which have not had image bands flipped, users must manually specify the ‘Filter Type’ as ‘RGN’ under the ‘Plant Health’ menu settings. Once complete, indices will be calculated with the proper histogram information.
